Who Does God Want Me to Be?

Posted on May 21, 2009

In the book The Three Deceivers, Richard M. Eyre talks about how to live with interdependence with people and a dependence upon God. He advises:

“Notice the needs of those around you,
And try never to win at someone else’s expense.

Cultivate awareness and perspective,
For these are the differences between man and Maker.

View your life as a series of opportunities to serve,
And an adventure in discovering
Who God wants you to be and what He wants you to do.

Understand that relationships are life’s measure,
And wrap your identity in your family.”

The closer we get to being like God, the happier we are. When we go about trying to see things His way and do what He would have us do we will find a greater fulfillment in life. Relationships are your life’s measure because they are also God’s measure. He wants us to love and be kind to His other children. He wants us to serve them. He wants us to live the Golden Rule. It is His rule. And it will make us happy. Go live the Golden Rule today.
